Three simple things to think about before signing up for a newsletter or a business concept:
1. The bigger and bolder and the more colorful the text is in the headlines the more careful you should be.
2. If it sounds to good to be true, it probably isn't true.
3. Even you get something "for free" it is not for free. Especially not if you give away your e-mail address to get the free stuff. It will probably come back on you as spam.
I have noticed that even links from this site through our guest writers or ads goes to "opportunities" that could be doubtful.

Business plan - not for me!

Even if you have the simplest of business ideas you should write down a business plan. In many cases you write the business plan before you go to the bank getting a loan or you want to attract more investors in your company. You often see the business plan as something you "have to do".

I think you should look at the business plan as something you would love to do and love to look back at. The business plan for a small home based business were you have a very simple idea and you're the only employee don't have to be fancy. At least you should write down your goals for the next year when it comes to

Basic Business plan
  • number of customers
  • number of visitors
  • revenue
  • close competitors

You should also write down how you will achieve your goals. Another important thing to write is the competition today. And your methods for gaining market shares.

The business plan will be a document on what your thoughts and expectations were at this time. The world is changing and so are your market and your products and services. If you feel that your business is staggering, open your business plan and read about how the market looked like when you wrote it. Then, write a new business plan for the next twelve month. Save the old business plans. We can learn from our history.

I promise you: Business plans are for you!

Casino systems doesn't work in the long run

The most common money machine have to be the classical "double your money" - system.
You bet on one color on the roulette table. If you win you bet the same amount of money again. If you loose you double the bet.

For example:

You win
You bet $1 on black. If you win you get $2. Next round you put in another $1.

You loose

If you loose you double the bet. In this example you bet 2$ if you lost the first dollar. If you loose again you bet $4.

As long as you don't loose more than a few times in a row this system really work. But when (not if) you loose 12 times in a row you have to bet $8192 not to loose the all your investment. If you loose that 13th time your total loss is $16383 (1+2+4+8+16+32+64+128+256+512+1024+2048+4096+8192 ).

If your initial bet was $10 your loss in the example would have been $163830.

Advantages Of Starting A Home-Based Business

Author: Daniel Cassidy

Home-based businesses are not only great for giving you the freedom to work from your own home and choose your own hours, a home-based business can also offer many tax advantages.
What Can You Claim

There are many things that you are legally allowed to claim for your home-based business and its operation costs. For example, if you have your office set up in your own home and that area alone is used for the sole purpose of your business, you may claim deductions for that space through your business. Further details on how to claim for your own space in your home can be obtained from the IRS.
To figure out the deduction of your home office in relation to your home, you will need to work out the amount of space that your home office takes up. For example, this may be 10% of the total space of your home. Then deduct this amount from your current payments on your home, for example, interest on your mortgage or rental costs.
These deductions also include property tax and, if you already own the home, you may be eligible for depreciation costs. Insurance costs for your home can also be claimed at the same rate as the rental or mortgage deductions.
Other things that can be deducted from your home-based business include remodeling or office furniture that relate directly to your business. These must be only for your business and for no other purpose.
In addition to all of the common things you can claim, including supplies and equipment, there are also other deductions that are often overlooked by those in home based businesses. These include transport costs that are directly related to your home-based business, entertainment of your clients in your business and your taxation preparation costs.
Keep Good Records

Home-based businesses are just the same as any regular business in the terms of record keeping. Keep records of anything that you may want to claim on taxes and make sure you understand what you are within your rights to claim. Keep your records in a safe, organized filing system or archive, that way, if you do get audited, you will have no problem finding relevant documentation of your business.
To find out exactly what you are able to claim and the applicable rates, visit the IRS for further information. Don't spend another year missing out on important deductions for your home-based business.
